Why Equip U?

Our church is embarking on a completely different strategy to help us all grow spiritually. It’s called Equip U! This is needed for several reasons:
- What we were doing before (small congregations and many random small groups) was not working any more. Only 30% of our church was involved in anything beyond Sunday morning worship.
- As the culture changes, people change, and churches must change. We will NEVER change the gospel or truth of the Word, but the way we get it into people must.
- Different people grow in different ways. Classroom learning is good for a segment of believers, but many are left wanting. Equip U is multi-dimensional and will have a way of attracting and affecting more people in more significant ways.
- Equip U will provide venues for authentic spiritual growth to happen. Even beyond the group experiences, people will meet others that become true friends for life. These authentic friendships will be one of the most powerful organic growing factors possible.
- Many more choices will be available so people can “zero in” on what they need most.
We are already seeing some positive signs. In the first five days of registrations, we have 217 people registered for a Growth Group. That’s already more than what was involved in everything else before!
Our first run at this is an all-church focus called Morph. I have written this eight-week curriculum designed to help us grow into the likeness of Jesus. It’s going to be great!
