CV

For those of you who attended our second service at Edinbrook on Sunday, you’ve seen C.V.Vadavana (pronounced Wadawana). I met CV while at the Boro Baptist Annual Conference in Assam, India. We were both entrusted with the great privilege of speaking to the crowd of 20,000 who gathered in a dried up rice bed. We also had opportunity to get to know one another and strike up a friendship. He visited this past Sunday.

CV joined us for dinner on Sunday and brought along some beautiful gifts from Amazing India!

CV is an amazing leader in India. Having been a Jesuit Monastic Priest for eleven years, his passion for the things of God are clear. He left that because He met Christ while there and knew He was called to greater things than a secluded life of purity. God has used him mightily!

So far, he has ministries of compassion all over India — ministering to the sick, impoverished, orphans, and widows. For example — they have a wheelchair ministry. They have given away 57,000 wheelchairs so far. They also have schools across the nation, seminaries, and host pastors training conferences on a regular basis where thousands of people attend regularly. He has written 46 books so far and heads up a bi-monthly Christian magazine publication for families. (Christian materials are rarities in India)

I’m a nobody in light of this giant in Christ. But what does CV say to me when he visits? “Pastor Ivan — I want and need to learn from you. You are such a great leader.”

What makes CV great is that he truly considers himself small. He is, indeed, a walking lesson of the upside down Kingdom!
